It’s now illegal to ‘car cruise’ or drive anti-socially in the entirety of Trafford. Council bosses have announced that an existing order which banned car cruises and the nuisance motoring has been extended to cover the entire area of Trafford Council.

Originally brought in to cover Trafford Park, it was triggered after a series of incidents where cars were driven dangerously at high-speed with crowds attending the illegal unauthorised events adding to the danger.

The public space protection order (PSPO) was implemented in 2016. However, in 2018, one woman was killed when a car crashed into five pedestrians. We will continue to crackdown on people who wilfully disregard the safety of others just to show off in their cars.” The order means anyone taking part in an unauthorised motoring event or driving in an anti-social manner may be issued with a fixed penalty notice of £100 or a fine up to £1,000.
