The first ever Perth derby in the East of Scotland League’s Premier Division takes place tomorrow afternoon.Jeanfield Swifts make the short trip to Tulloch Park to face off against near neighbours and rivals Kinnoull. It is a fixture made possible thanks to Kinnoull’s promotion from the First Division last season.“Kinnoull on Saturday brings a new challenge,” said Swifts manager Robbie Holden.“Barry [Cockburn] has had to rebuild the squad and it takes time to do that so they have probably been up and down in terms of results.“Their win at Inverkeithing – who I thought were very impressive – shows that they have the quality to beat top sides.“Playing at Tulloch Park is not easy and, when you add in the derby factor, it makes it a really tough game for us.”Swifts, third in the table, head into the fixture on the back of a midweek 3-1 defeat at Broxburn.

It was their first loss of the season.Kinnoull, meanwhile, went down 6-2 away at Tynecastle on Tuesday night.Holden added: “Congratulations firstly go to Broxburn.

They were the better team on the night and deserved to win the game.“They are a team in form. We probably haven’t been in form the last couple of games so it was a bad time to play them.“We didn’t really assert our style on the game and they did.

They worked very hard all night.“I think we were let down by the referee at a few big moments which didn’t help our cause but we lost the game because Broxburn performed better than we did.”He continued: “It’s difficult to lose, it’s our first one in 10 games so we were naturally disappointed but it has been a very positive start.“We need to pick ourselves back up and start another run.
