The organisation used life satisfaction data from the UK Office of National Statistics to measure happiness. It separated its results between Scotland, England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
It found that Orkney topped Scotland for happiness, with a life satisfaction score of 8.2 out of 10. Following in second and third place were Argyll and Bute and the Highlands, both with scores of 7.7 out of 10. All three had life satisfaction score of 7.1 out of 10. Looking at the overall best places in Scotland to buy a house, Glint used other metrics such as average property price per square foot, average salary, and crime rate.
