An ambulance worker was 'punched in the face, kicked on the floor, and had to be taken to hospital' after allegedly being attacked treating a patient.

The ambulance worker was treating a patient on Saturday, February 11 in Chorley, when she was reportedly attacked, according to North West Ambulance Service (NWAS).

The woman, an emergency medical technician, had to be taken to hospital for treatment. A 17-year-old has been charged in connection with the incident and is due to appear in court on February 28, NWAS has said.
