Strike action at South Lanarkshire waste centres puts a hold on a new booking system

The booking system for South Lanarkshire waste centres has been put on hold due to strike action.A new system which was supposed to go live yesterday (August 5) is being postponed due to industrial action which is planned between August 14 and August 22.Head of Facilities, Waste and Grounds Services, Kevin Carr, said: “The reasons for trialling the booking system were to reduce waiting times, reduce queuing on adjacent roads, reduce incidents of abuse to staff and prevent residents from other local authority areas using the site.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
