Strictly's Anton Du Beke ignores show drama as he celebrates birthday on stage with Giovanni Pernice
ok.co.ukAnton Du Beke appears to be ignoring any recent Strictly Come Dancing drama, as he took to the stage to celebrate his birthday with his "best friend" Giovanni Pernice.The professional-dancer-turned-judge on the BBC dancing show, said he was treated to "such a wonderful birthday serenade" from Llandudno while performing the Anton and Giovanni: Together tour.The Welsh crowd sang Happy Birthday to the 58-year-old, led by his friend Giovanni.
Anton told his fans: "Thank you to everyone who has sent me birthday wishes today. All my love." Giovanni also wished his "best friend" a happy birthday on his Instagram, posting to his 1.1 million followers he said: "Happy bday to my best friend in the world. "Let's shake this bum on stage tonight extra hard to celebrate you." Both Anton and Giovanni shared humours clips from the sold out show on their social media pages which shows audiences laughing and singing along with them.
This act of solidarity comes after the Mirror reported that Anton is the latest professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing to come under scrutiny as the BBC investigates “serious misconduct” on the show.
It was reported that the dancer has been named to lawyers Carter Ruck by former partner Laila Rouass, who he was paired with in 2009 while still a pro dancer.
