Strictly's Amy Dowden says 'I'm sorry' in emotional birthday tribute to dad amid cancer battle

Strictly Come Dancing's Amy Dowden has penned an emotional tribute to her dad on social media as she made a heartbreaking public apology to him as she continues to receive treatment after being diagnosed with stage three breast cancer.The BBC professional star, who has appeared on the programme since 2017, has undergone a mastectomy and reconstruction after receiving her cancer diagnosis in May this year just a day before her honeymoon with husband Ben Jones.Things appeared to be going well as she continued to update her fans, but Amy explained how she was dealt a "massive blow" when doctors found "more tumours" and another type of cancer which meant she needed chemotherapy.Amy, 32, was left devastated by the news as it also meant she won't be able to compete in her much-loved Strictly show this year as she was flooded with support at her ongoing journey whilst also encouraging people to 'check their breasts' more.However, in her latest update, Amy dedicated her social media post to her dad Richard as she uploaded a of photos and videos of them together in a heartwarming tribute to him which included one on her wedding day last year.In the adorable clip, her dad Richard Dowden took to the floor for a singalong with the backing of Amy's former celebrity dance partner, McFly star Tom Fletcher."Happy birthday to the most amazing dad @richard_dowden," she wrote alongside a picture of them both at what appeared to be a wedding with Richard sporting a smart-looking suit while Amy looked gorgeous in a cobalt blue dress.Alongside the video of him belting out Queen's classic track Bohemian Rhapsody: "Everyone loves Dickie Dowd and all the fun, jokes but most importantly loving family guy you are.""Mine and Strictly's biggest
