St Cuthbert Wanderers boss Ian Clark was delighted with the response from his players even though they’re still looking for their first points of the season.
The Kirkcudbright side went into their game against Creetown fresh from a chastening 13-0 loss to Newton Stewart. And although they lost 2-1, Clark felt his side could have ended up with a point – Aaron Campbell’s second-half goal not enough to cancel out Joe McMillan’s first half brace.
He said: “I think we deserved something out of the game. “We were much, much better. I think you would expect positives from the week before but just how much of a reaction we got was more than I anticipated and I’m sure everyone else thought the same. “That was more of what I expect from the lads in terms of how they go about their business.
They worked so much harder, they worked as a unit, did the basics very well, followed the instructions and game plan we set out and when you do that you get the rewards. “I think Creetown were probably a little bit shell-shocked with the way we played.
