South Lanarkshire recycling centres to take same types of waste as before lockdown

Join thousands of others who have signed up for the Daily Record newsletter.Recycling centres in South Lanarkshire will almost be back to normal when they begin to accept all the same types of waste as before the pandemic.The six sites at Blantyre, Carluke, East Kilbride, Larkhall, Rutherglen and Strathaven will start accepting more waste from Wednesday (July 29) meaning residents can once again dispose of soil, rubble, batteries, fluorescent tubes, textiles and gas bottles.Restrictions to help prevent the spread of coronavirus will still be in place, including physical distancing.Chair of South Lanarkshire Council’s Community and Enterprise Resources Committee, Councillor John Anderson (East Kilbride Central South), said: “We are delighted.
