Sky Sports 'plan' to turn down crowd volume in Manchester United visit to Everton amid protests

Broadcasters Sky Sports reportedly plan to dull down the noise of the Everton crowd in Sunday’s clash against Manchester United amid a scheduled in-game protest.

Toffees supporters are set to voice their anger at the Premier League for handing their club a 10-point deduction last week for breaking its profit and sustainability rules.

In the 10th-minute, a number of home fans are expected to chant ‘Premier League, corrupt as ****’. With kick-off scheduled for 4.30pm on Sunday, the chant would come before the 9pm watershed cut-off and so Sky Sports, who are screening the game, are apparently making contingency plans so Ofcom rules are not broken. One Everton fan group is encouraging supporters to display banners and flags to protest the points-deduction with a vibrant atmosphere inside Goodison Park expected.
