Six Scots are set to race each other to Germany for the start of the Euros. Three lucky teams of two have beaten hundreds of applicants to take on the challenge to reach Munich first for the opening game of the European Championships on June 14, when Scotland face tournament hosts Germany.

Aberdeen dad William Wallace, will join daughter Beth Wallace as they compete against Tartan Army members Ewan Oman and Chris Gibson from Peterhead; and Paisley duo Euan McLelland and Paul Mullan in the intense Tennent's Lager Get to Germany race this summer. The lucky chosen few have beaten off 750 applicants to take part in the nail-biting dash from Glasgow to Munich for the curtain-raiser.

The competitors will each head to a separate checkpoint in Europe by 'any means possible', but won't be able to catch a flight.

Dad and daughter team Beth, 27, and William, 69, are season ticket holders for Aberdeen FC and Beth used to travel across the country to attend Scotland games with her mum, who has now sadly passed away. The duo said ahead of the race: "Being chosen to take on the race feels like we’ve won already, but of course now we’re part of it – we’re going to do everything to try and win.” Team two, Ewan, 26, and Chris, 49, are founding members of the North East Tartan Army and have travelled all over the world to see the national team.
