When the weather is chilly outside, you might find you're waking up each morning to find your windows covered in condensation. These water droplets tend to form when warm air inside comes into contact with the cold glass of the window, which is why it's more common to see it during the winter months. But it can be a real pain to deal with, as it can sometimes lead to bigger problems such as damp and mould if left untreated.

However, one double glazing expert says one golden rule can help to alleviate the issue, and all homeowners should follow it.Allan Reid, the Founder of Art Windows and Doors, says that double glazing often isn't enough to stop condensation from forming.

He said: "While double glazing is effective in preventing some condensation, the colder conditions can, unfortunately, bring mould regardless."Whether you have single, double or triple-glazed windows, proper ventilation is always the best way to reduce condensation."Here are some of Allan's other top tips that can help to banish condensation and mould at home, as reported by the Star.

The expert said: "Replacing the air-tight seal between your layers of glass is essential to prevent water vapour.
