Simon Cowell revealed he would love to bring back the X Factor, but he said there would have to be some changes. The singing competition was once the most successful programme in the country, with 14 million people tuning in during its peak.
But over time, viewers dwindled, with Simon determined to restore the ITV show back to its former glory. The likes of Leona Lewis, Leon Jackson, and James Arthur were made household names from the X Factor.
What started as judges Louis Walsh, Sharon Osbourne, and Simon Cowell all critiquing auditions in a small room soon turned into contestants having to try out for the show in huge arenas, with regular guest judges brought in.
But Simon reckons that viewers lost interest in the show due to it losing some of its original identity over the years. He told OK!: "I'm not sure when but it be great to have it back. “I think it would be taken back to basics.
