Shaughna Phillips reveals baby Lucia's real name in sweet tribute to late dad

Shaughna Phillips has revealed that she has paid tribute to her late father, who passed away seven years ago, by using his surname for her four-month-old daughter Lucia.The former Love Island star, who welcomed the new arrival in April, shared her daughter's real name while joining in on a debate about whether women should give their children their own surname, rather than the father's.

Watching the debate on Good Morning Britain, the mother-of-one took to her Instagram Stories to give her own view to her 1.4M followers - explaining that Lucia's is double-barrelled. "Interested to know everyone's thoughts on this," Shaughna wrote. "I decided I wanted to keep my surname after my dad passed away.

I just felt like it was a part of him I never wanted to give up. "So when I found out I was pregnant, Lucia's surname was always going to be double-barrelled because mine will be if/when I get married." She added: "Did you know that if your child only has dad's surname and you travel without him, you need to travel baby's birth certificate with you?" Shaughna shares Lucia with her estate agent boyfriend Billy Webb, who she revealed 'wasn't around' in March after he was charged with drug offences in January.

The decision to always keep her maiden name, and pass it to her children, comes after Shaughna was left devastated due to the loss of her beloved father in 2016.
