Aimee Lou Wood said filming her latest BBC comedy in her Greater Manchester hometown 'moved her.' The Sex Education star will play pregnant, 24-year-old Gemma in the upcoming series Daddy Issues, which comes to BBC Three this month.

Sherwood’s David Morrissey stars as her dad, Malcom - a hapless man-child who, recently divorced from Gemma’s mother, is living in a grubby shared flat for divorced men and is unable to perform basic life tasks.

When Gemma’s flatmate decides to move out, she asks her dad to move in with her – after all, it must be better than financial ruin and crippling loneliness while raising a baby.

The series is set and was shot in Stockport, where Wood grew up. On filming in her hometown, Wood said: "I didn’t think it was important to me until I got there and started filming it, I didn’t think it was going to move me as much as it did.
