One medical expert has shared what too much heat can do to the body, ranging from spurring asthma to causing migraines.As forecasters are predicting "serious" snow across Scotland this weekend, Dr Neel Patel, from LloydsPharmacy Online Doctor wants people to know the signs of being over-heated.This isn't to say that switching on the central heating is deadly to your health and should be avoided entirely, but if you notice certain discomforts, you may want to consider giving it a break.
Instead, maybe consider sticking on the electric blanket for a time or throw on extra layers to ward off chills.With that in mind, the expert has explained what you can do to protect your health when you turn on the heating this winter.With central heating drying out the air in the home, this can trigger asthma and make it difficult for those who suffer with the condition to breathe.Dr Patel said: "Central heating can make the air inside our homes very dry.
This can cause lung conditions like asthma to flare up. You may find the dry air triggers coughing and shortness of breath."You can potentially reduce this issue by adding moisture to the air, through a humidifier.The doctor added: "Another thing to try is investing in a humidifier to regulate the amount of water vapour in the air.
