Biggar’s Emily Nicholl is one of four Lanarkshire-based players to be taking part in a major netball event this weekend.The 29-year-old is vice-captain of the Scottish Thistles World Cup squad which will take on Netball Super League All Stars at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow on Saturday, at 3pm.McCall is joined in the 12-strong squad by Strathclyde Sirens team-mates Niamh McCall from Strathaven, Stonehouse’s Emma Barrie and Cambuslang native Beth Goodwin.They will take on Stars trio Jo Trip, Gabby Marshall and Jess Shaw; Lisa Mather (Mavericks), Brie Grierson (Leeds Rhinos) and Rachel Dunn (Dragons), plus three Thistle world cup reserves that will be drafted in to join the squad.Additionally, a morning training session has been organised, allowing children to train with the Scottish Thistles, while coaches can take part in a workshop led by head coach Tamsin Greenway, and Sara Francis-Bayman on the power of video analysis in coaching.Speaking on the match, and Scottish Thistles spokesperson said: “This thrilling encounter guarantees a fast-paced and skilful display of netball, as both ties vie for victory.“Spectators can expect breath-taking passes, sensational shooting and solid defence as these elite athletes showcase their remarkable skills and strategic prowess.“The All-Stars netball match aims to engage and inspire the local community, fostering a love for netball and encouraging participation at all levels.“By providing children with the chance to train alongside their netball heroes, and coaches with a unique learning experience, the event seeks to leave a lasting impact on the sport in Scotland.“As Scotland eagerly awaits this incredible netball extravaganza, the sport’s popularity continues to soar, and the
