People have been urged not to call 999 due to a 'technical fault' that is impacting emergency services across the UK. Phone lines are down for police, fire and ambulance services, with many calls unable to connect.

In a statement, Police Scotland told people to call 101 instead, with non-emergency calls asked to wait until the issue is resolved to prevent overwhelm.
