A drunk teenager who killed a bus driver after being refused admission onto his coach displayed an “air of arrogance” about the attack to police.

The 16-year-old boy, who can’t be named for legal reasons, didn’t "appreciate the severity" of how his actions caused Keith Rollinson's death at Elgin bus station in February 2024.The High Court in Edinburgh heard on Friday how detectives noted the youth’s indifference during their interview with him hours after the fatal attack.

The youngster had previously assaulted another bus driver and pleaded guilty to the culpable homicide of Mr Rollinson at a hearing this morning.Prosecutor John Keenan KC told judge Lady Hood how the youngster had spent the evening of Friday February 2 2024 consuming alcohol with friends in Elgin town centre.

He had decided to catch a bus to his home. However, Mr Rollinson refused to allow him onto his coach due to his level of intoxication.
