Prosecutors have dropped a criminal case against three Police Scotland officers accused of public indecency - after they were secretly filmed playing a consensual game of strip poker.
The decision to report the trio to prosecutors over the incident was blasted by cops and legal figures, as the officers were all willing participants in the game and had no idea they were being recorded. The group were recorded while naked inside a flat, telling colleagues afterwards they had been playing strip poker following a night out.
Footage which showed the officers, who were based in Campbeltown, Argyll, naked and drinking from beer bottles went viral.Someone spotted them through a window three floors up.and began recording them.
Police Scotland launched a probe to trace whoever made and shared the footage, amid claims it was filmed and shared illegally. The officers had not consented to having their consensual game recorded or shared with others, and filming and distributing videos of people in intimate situations, without their consent, are both criminal offences.
