A Scots charity has been left devastated after callous thieves stole furniture worth £1,000 from a new base that will support people suffering from addiction.Steps To Hope SCIO helps people across the UK who are battling addiction and experiencing homelessness, with the charity spending tens of thousands of pounds on a new home.But founder and operations director Richard Roncero has been left gutted after discovering thieves ignored branded charity vans parked outside the 11-bedroom property and stole garden furniture.It is understood the incident took place overnight on Friday, August 18, at the property in the Uphall/Broxborn area of West Lothian, Edinburgh Live reports.Richard said: “I came in on Saturday and realised the garden furniture we had just purchased had been stolen.“We’ve just purchased an 11-bedroom property.

We closed our base in Edinburgh and have been working tirelessly to get this new place up and running, we have spent tens of thousands.“For someone to come in and nick this from Hope House is just devastating.

It is a kick in the teeth.“We are due to have our graduates reunion next week which will see folk that have completed the programme and are sober come to celebrate with their families.

We will be having a bouncy castle, a barbecue and even have Callum Beattie playing.“I bought the seating area for the families coming so they could enjoy our grounds but it is really sad that this has happened.
