Ryan Murphy’s next ‘Monster’ story will star Tom Hollander as Alfred Hitchcock

Monster series will see Tom Hollander star as Alfred Hitchcock.Murphy recently announced that season three will star Charlie Hunnam as the 1950s serial killer Ed Gein.

He became infamous when authorities discovered that he not only had killed multiple people, but had dug up graves from a cemetery near his home and fashioned all manner of household items and clothing from human remains.Now according to Variety, Hollander, Hacks star Laurie Metcalf and The Crown‘s Olivia Williams have been added to the cast.Metcalf will play Gein’s mother, Augusta, while Williams will play Alma Reville, Hitchcock’s wife.It is thought that because Gein served as one of the inspirations for Norman Bates and Hitchcock’s film Psycho, season three of the hit Netflix anthology will delve into how his crimes influenced the film and the novel upon which the movie was based.Hollander recently worked with Murphy on the second season of Feud as Truman Capote in the the series.Elsewhere, Murphy recently suggested that he might not be finished with Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.Following the news that a court hearing has been set for Erik and Lyle Menendez, and that new evidence that they were allegedly molested by their father is now being considered, Murphy has expressed an interest in extending the season.The show charts the brothers’ conviction and sentencing to life in prison for the first-degree murder of their parents, Jose and Kitty Menendez, in 1989.Following its release Erik blasted Murphy in a statement, calling the show naive and inaccurate.
