Richard Madeley was seen looking visibility moved as he returned to the small screen alongside his wife Judy Finnigan. The pair were subject to a new Channel 5 documentary which celebrated their illustrious television careers.
In the programme, aired on Sunday night (September 22), Richard nostalgically recalled his journey from his beginnings at Granada through the days of presenting This Morning.
However, it was his reflection on succeeding Sir Terry Wogan on his Radio 2 show following the broadcasting icon's passing in 2016 that brought out the Good Morning Britain star's emotions. During the documentary, reminiscing about that significant day, Richard commented: "It was all very emotional. It went fine, and the guests spoke beautifully, so I didn't have to do much, thankfully." Recalling the moments afterwards, he shared: "Going off air, I was looking through the glass into the gallery.
