MAFS expert Paul C Brunson’s ‘heart crushed’ as he shed tears over beloved friend’s death

We’ve seen him bring joy to many has he plays Cupid on dating shows Married At First Sight and Celebs Go Dating – and although not every one of his matchmaking attempts works out, relationship expert Paul C Brunson has learned to take the rough with the smooth.

However, back in 2014, Paul was hit by heartbreak of his own, when he discovered that his good friend Karyn Washington had died by suicide.The young American social media entrepreneur and campaigner, who was responsible for uplifting projects including For Brown Girls and #DarkSkinRedLip, was just 22 at the time.

Paul write in an emotional social media post that his heart was “crushed” to hear about her death and went on to pay tribute to his friend: “I met Karyn 4 years ago at an event I hosted in Baltimore and since that night, we periodically emailed and talked." “She was an incredible woman,” he added. “Passionate about causes close to heart and organized (resulting in the success of several of her projects).

My eyes are swelling as I write... Karyn was such a beautiful talent who left too soon.” He then went on to make a passionate plea to anyone who may be struggling with suicidal thoughts. “If you feel on the brink of taking your life, tell someone that you're having suicidal thoughts immediately,” he said. “Do not keep this to yourself for one second longer." He then added: “If you feel like you have no one to turn to during this difficult time, then you should immediately check yourself into a hospital.
