A rare job opportunity on a remote Scottish island has become available that could be perfect for anyone tired of city living and keen to start a more peaceful life.Dunrossness, the southernmost parish of Shetland, is currently recruiting a full-time postperson on a permanent basis.

The job would consist of 40 hours of work a week between Monday and Saturday, with hours ranging from 7.45am to 5pm.Based at the Dunrossness Delivery Office, the successful applicant would be delivering mail in one of the most stunning settings in Scotland and beyond.

According to the Shetland website, Dunrossness has "some of Shetland's most appealing coastal scenery" and "boasts several of Shetland's most celebrated archaeological sites, including the multi-period settlement at Jarlshof and the more recently-excavated Old Scatness".Those applying for the position should be prepared to walk for long periods of time in any weather, and must have a full UK manual driving licence with no more than six penalty points.

Meanwhile, applicants should also be "upbeat, independent and self-motivated" and "organised, punctual and ready to deliver great customer service".With the position requiring somebody with a "strong sense of community", it would suit those looking to start over and fully immerse themselves in Shetland life.
