A fuming Scots motorist has been left hundreds of pounds out of pocket after rats chewed through car wiring causing several dangerous and expensive faults.Kanzis Mattu from Glasgow discovered the costly issues with her vehicle five weeks after her Ford Fiesta went in for its MOT when the garage phoned to tell her they found rat droppings and food wrappers in the engine.Since then, she has been taking her car back and forth to the garage and has forked out nearly £300 on repairs.
Her partner is also experiencing the same issue. Speaking to GlasgowLive Kirsten said: "People constantly dump bread crumbs on the ground for the birds and that’s attracting the rats.
All the residential bins in this area are like open skips and it’s horrific. We had a couple of weeks where the bins weren’t taken away and there were just piles on piles of rubbish. "All of the bags have been chewed through.
I was shocked when he told me there were rat droppings in the engine, I never heard of it before and it made me feel really dirty."There’s droppings, chewing gum wrappers and even a Costa cup at the bottom of the car.
