Previously unseen letters from Princess Diana, including one in which she jokes about the Scottish weather, have been sold at auction.

A rare collection of 14 festive cards, two personal letters, and a number of photos of Diana sent to fashion designer Bill Pashley between 1981 and 1994 collectively sold for almost £10,000.

Pashley, who is known for creating the tweed suit she wore during her Balmoral honeymoon in 1981, treasured his royal memorabilia until his death in 2014.

The wealth of correspondences date back more than 40 years, and include images of the Princess of Wales and Charles on their wedding day and in happier times, as well as pictures of Diana as a shy teenage bridesmaid and as a new mum posing alongside young princes William and Harry.
