Prince Harry got an apology from the Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN) for using unlawful methods to gather information about his private life.
The 38-year-old Duke of Sussex is one of four claimants chosen from a larger group of high-profile figures suing the publisher for alleged unlawful information gathering (UIG).
The British publisher of the Daily Mirror apologized for one instance of using unlawful methods to spy on Prince Harry but denied his other claims Wednesday. Keep reading to find out more…The focus of the trial will be 207 newspaper stories published between 1991 and 2011.
140 of them were about Prince Harry. “It was a flood of illegality,” Prince Harry‘s attorney David Sherborne said, per the AP. “But worse, this flood was being approved by senior executives, managing editors and members of the board.” Sherborne said that former editor Piers Morgan was aware of the unlawful hacking, which he has denied.
