Vulnerable Lanarkshire pensioner says council 'are not listening' over mould problems

A vulnerable Rutherglen pensioner who claims she reported issues of mould and dampness to South Lanarkshire Council in 2008 has slammed the local authority after saying the problem has still not been solved.Helen Bulloch told Lanarkshire Live that she notified the local authority of the issue around 15 years ago and has been fighting to get her Mill Court home liveable ever since.The 71-year-old suffers from damaged lungs due to Legionnaires' disease and says she is being forced to breathe in mould spores, which have became worse in the past year.However, the council says an issue with dampness was traced and a repair was carried out, and the issues are "principally as a result of the lack of heating and ventilation within the property".The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

It got worse last September, and they sent someone out to paint over the walls, but even he couldn’t do it because of the dampness.“There is dampness coming up from the floorboards, and if I leave my shoes out, they become mouldy.
