Paul Burrell, the former butler to Princess Diana and footman to the late Queen Elizabeth II, has taken another swing at Prince Harry. The 65 year old's latest dig comes amid the recent verdict following Harry's legal battle with the Home Office.
Back in February 2020, the Duke of Sussex took legal action after the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec) decided he should receive a downgraded level of protection when visiting the UK.
Prince Harry has since announced that he plans to appeal the verdict. As per Mail Online, the 39 year old said that was "not asking for preferential treatment, but for a fair and lawful application of Ravec's own rules." His team also released a statement, which in part read: "The Duke of Sussex will appeal today's judgment which refuses his judicial review claim against the decision-making body Ravec, which includes the Home Office, the Royal Household and the Met Police. "The Duke of Sussex hopes he will obtain justice from the Court of Appeal, and makes no further comment while the case is ongoing." Following the decision, Paul Burrell weighed in with his thoughts while appearing on GB News.
He said: "I think quite frankly the British public are sick and tired of 'Ginge and Whinge' and wish they would stay in America because if you stayed there, you wouldn't have to suffer the indignity of coming to Britain." The former butler continued to slam the Duke, stating he believes the prince has an "inflated ego" and "is full of his own self-importance." "It's egotistical of him to think that he was in a greater risk than his mother," Paul then added, referring to the High Court security case.
