Police want to speak to this man in connection with an incident where a boy, 11, had his phone stolen

Detectives have issued a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with an incident that saw a boy have his phone stolen.

It happened at about 3.10pm yesterday in Bewsey, Warrington, at the junction of Troutbeck Avenue, and Norreys Avenue. In a statement Cheshire Constabulary said: "Officers swiftly attended the scene and discovered that a man had grabbed an 11-year-old boy around 10 minutes earlier.

The boy managed to fight off the man, who ran away with the boy’s mobile phone along Norreys Avenue towards Lilford Avenue Thankfully the boy only sustained minor injury." Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and officers have now released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to.

Detective Sergeant Richard Langford said: “We understand that incidents such as this cause a lot of concern in the local community.
