Police issue update on manslaughter arrest after man, 74, dies following bus 'altercation'

A man who was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter after a 74-year-old died following an 'altercation' on a bus has been released on bail, police have confirmed.

Police officers raced to the scene of the incident on Cotswold Road in Warrington at around 7pm on Saturday (July 13). Two men who were travelling on the 20 bus from Warrington bus station to Poplars Avenue were involved in an 'altercation'.

In an update issued this morning (July 15), a spokesperson for Cheshire Police said he has since been released on bail. Enquiries into the incident are continuing.
