Plans put forward to build energy-efficient homes in Old Trafford

A £28million scheme to build 162 energy-efficient houses and apartments in Old Trafford is soon to be put before planning bosses - if a grant from Homes England can be secured.

The joint venture between Trafford council and Trafford Housing Trust (THT) - including 30 per cent affordable homes - will be complete in the summer of 2025.

Councillors on the authority's executive committee approved the 'Homes for Old Trafford' scheme at an executive meeting on Wednesday night (October 12).

A similar 'Tamworth Development' scheme for 174 homes was brought forward last year, but the proposals has been modified to accommodate fewer properties.
