Plane makes dramatic descent over Scotland after mid-air emergency

A plane has made a dramatic descent over Scotland after declaring a mid-air emergency. The Bluebird Nordic BF6810 flight had been travelling from Billund, Denmark to Reykjavík, Iceland.After taking off from Billund at 7.08am, the cargo plane issued a 7700 alert - indicating a general emergency - at 7.53am.Flight radar app 'Plane Finder' shows it rapidly dropped to an altitude of around 8000ft, down from 31,000ft when raising the alarm.

The warning was issued as the aircraft was above Shetland. It was due to land in Reykjavík at 9.01am and currently appears to be flying towards Glasgow Airport.
