Janey Godley in hospital for major cancer operation and tells fans 'see you on the other side'
dailyrecord.co.ukJaney Godley has gone into hospital for a lifesaving cancer operation and told fans she's see them 'on the other side'. The 60-year-old , kept things brief in her message to fans as she got ready for a full hysterectomy today.
She shared a picture of her sausage dog and wrote: "Am awake and off to hospital - see you all on the other side."The Glasgow born comedian, who has gained UK wide fame for her funny voiceovers as Nicola Sturgeon during Covid, has admitted she is terrified ahead of the major surgery today.She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in November during her tour and warned other to get checked out if they spotted similar symptoms.
Janey, who experienced bloating, stomach pain, lack of hunger and frequent urination, even wrote her ' final joke' with her comedian daughter Ashley Storrie ahead of her operation.
Last night she joked she was having a hen style party for her tumour complete with pin the tumour on the ovary games in stead of pin the tail on the donkey.She'd already said: "My last night with my womb, we are having a pre op “hen party” I have been drawing Fallopian tubes on cards and pin the tumour on the ovary, we’re having cocktails of flat water and tomorrow at 7am I am off - thank you Scottish NHS and everyone here for lifting me up." Janey, who nicknamed her cancer Bunty, has received well wishes from thousands f follower including fellow comedian and Benidorm star Johnny Vegas as well as telly host Lorraine Kelly.
