Michael Schneider Variety Editor at Large Pete Davidson has more than bupkis to say. The “Saturday Night Live” alum and star of Peacock’s “Bupkis” will star in his second Netflix hour-long special, “Turbo Fonzarelli,” which premieres Jan.
9, 2024, on the streamer. This reps Davidson’s second solo Netflix stand-up special. His first, “Alive From New York,” premiered in 2020.
Davidson was also behind Netflix’s “Pete Davidson: The Best Friends,” which feaured comedy and music pals Neko White, Dave Sirus, Jordan Rock, Carly Aquilino, Joey Gay, Giulio Gallarotti, Big Wet and Machine Gun Kelly. “Turbo Fonzarelli” was directed by Jason Orley and Davidson executive produces with Alex Panagos for King For A Night; Ally Engelberg & Marc Lieberman are EPs for Above Average, which is the production company behind the special.
According to Netflix, the special “delivers on what it means to grow up and turn 30, discussing love, life, and living in the woods.” Davidson plays a fictionalized version of himself in “Bupkis,” which has been renewed for a second season.
