A pervert who groomed 'a 13-year-old girl' and arranged to meet her for sex was caught in a police sting. Nikolas Buchholz had actually been talking to an undercover cop who had set up a false profile.

The 37-year-old, from Warrington, but formerly from south Manchester, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court after admitting a string of offences the day his trial was due to start.

Jailing the car worker for three years and seven months, Judge David Aubrey KC said Buchholz travelled from his home to Fallowfield to meet the fictitious girl. Buchholz, of Ripley Street, admitted five offences involving attempted sexual communication; attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity; attempting to cause a child to watch him engage in sexual activity; and attempting to meet a child to engage in sexual activity.
