Pep Guardiola has already warned his Man City players of the next threat to their title defence

Manchester City will hope to quickly get the disappointment of Sunday out of their system when they face Brighton on Sunday, but Pep Guardiola already knows it won't be easy.

City suffered a frustrating 1-0 loss to Liverpool at Anfield, bringing an end to their unbeaten start to the season. Guardiola's side fell four points behind league leaders Arsenal, and their upcoming fixtures don't get much easier.

Brighton will be the next visitors to the Etihad Stadium, a club that Guardiola has a massive amount of respect for. In recent years the City boss has been very complimentary of the Seagulls and former manager Graham Potter, so much so that some suggested that the coach could one day replace Pep at City. Although Guardiola and De Zerbi have never worked together, Guardiola knows his quality well having acted almost as a mentor for the 43-year-old during his coaching journey.
