Nearly three million people in the UK, including more than 235,700 in Scotland, may not be aware of a free parking scheme available at most airports across Great Britain, including four north of the border.

Blue Badge holders can save up to £16 on pick-up and drop-off charges simply by using a dedicated service that typically involves registering the vehicle number plate and estimated time of arrival beforehand.This means if you are a Blue Badge holder being dropped off or picked up by friends, family, or taxi at Glasgow, Prestwick, Edinburgh or Aberdeen airport you are exempt from drop-off charges - as long as you register for the service in advance.It’s a simple service to use and for some airports it just involves pressing the intercom or calling a number to let staff know you have arrived, or are leaving.
