‘Oppenheimer’ Director Christopher Nolan Takes Home Directing Prize And Thanks Academy For Cementing His Legacy

Following his front-running award season where he won every award he was up for, Christopher Nolan completed the sweep as he took home Best Directing Oscar for Oppenheimer.

The historic night was capped off by her being presented the award by Steven Spielberg, who many people compare Nolan too. Nolan gave Spielberg a long hug following the win and thanked everyone involved including his producing partner and wife and said I thank you for “producer all my films and all our children.” Nolan won the award beating out Martin Scorsese for The Killers of the Flower Moon, Jonathan Glaser for Zone of Interest, Yorgos Lanthimos for Poor Things and Justine Triet for Anatomy of a Fall. “So many people who have dragged me up here I want to thank,” “Movies are just just over a 100 years old and just imagine 100 years into painting or theater and we don’t know where this journey is going from here but to know that you think I’m a meaningful part of it means the world to me.” The newly minted Oscar winner has been the front-runner taking home a number of critic circles awards and other accolades including the Golden Globe and DGA trophies for best director.
