A Scottish whisky distillery is set to reopen its doors this summer more than 30 years after closing.Rosebank Distillery in Falkirk, also known as the King of the Lowlands, will welcome visitors again this June following a careful restoration project.

The distillery closed its doors in 1993, and remained unused for 24 years until Ian Macleod Distillers stepped in to rescue it in 2017.The King of the Lowlands has since undergone four years of restoration work, with a new look that blends modern design with parts of the original building.

The old mill, which is believed to be around 103 years old, is still being used in the production of the distillery's whisky, while the towering 108-feet chimney stack has also been repaired.Rosebank Distillery's Victorian red brickwork faces the Forth and Clyde canal, and features a new glass-fronted stillroom that can be seen from the front of the building, Here, visitors can find exact replicas of the original stills, recreated from blueprints recovered from the Rosebank archives.Distillery manager at Rosebank Malcolm Rennie commented: "The process of bringing Rosebank Distillery back to life has been meticulous, with a huge amount of detail going into each and every element.

It was very important that we paid homage to Rosebank's history and story, and we feel we've done it justice by incorporating so much of the former distillery into our new home."The whole team at Rosebank are overjoyed to finally share our beautiful new distillery with whisky admirers across the world.
