One of Nottingham's most popular hotels goes on market for £2m

hotel, on the edge of the historic Park Estate in North Road, is believed to have closed down during the first lockdown and earlier this year a letting sign went up describing it as a "prime hotel and development opportunity".

Now the hotel has been listed on Rightmove, with a guide price of £2m. The Grade II-listed building was originally built as a 19th-century hunting lodge and has 16 bedrooms plus a restaurant, bar and terrace.

The listing says: "Internally, the property retains many of its original fine features including an impressive stone cantilever staircase with cast-iron balustrade, and is configured to provide a series of inter-communicating grand entertaining rooms opening out on to a large elevated terrace, retaining the original shutters, marble chimney pieces, high plaster ceiling borders and cornices. The listing adds that there is potential for alternative uses, subject to planning permission. Back in February, Clare Roberts, who works at the Toast cafe just across the road, told Nottinghamshire Live: "It is really sad news.
