Oleksandr Usyk has raised concerns about the ring canvas ahead of his Saturday night bout with Tyson Fury in Saudi Arabia. Fury and Usyk are set to compete for the undisputed heavyweight world champion title in Saudi Arabia, marking 25 years since Lennox Lewis last achieved this feat.
Both rivals had a workout on the same canvas on Wednesday as part of an eventful fight week. However, Usyk's team have lodged a complaint about the seams of the canvas, according to Sky Sports News, despite the fact that the same canvas has been used for previous fights, including Usyk's victories over Anthony Joshua. An identical canvas will be used on fight night and concerns from Usyk's entourage have emerged that it could present a trip hazard.
In the meantime, Fury is gearing up to intensify his psychological warfare with Usyk, vowing to make a unique entrance during his ring walk in Riyadh.
