Nick Knowles explains unrecognisable appearance after trolling hell and reveals fiancee's reaction

Nick Knowles has addressed his new bearded look after fans claimed he was "unrecognisable", with the DIY SOS presenter opening up about facing trolls on the internet.The TV host appeared on The One Show this week to chat about his new Channel 5 show, however fans were distracted by his bushy beard and different appearance.

Nick has now explained the big change, stopping by ITV's Lorraine to chat about the public's reaction. "As the internet pointed out just over the last few days, I'm a little bit overweight," he said. "Basically because I grew this beard and I wore a shirt that was a little bit too tight, I'm now literally on the internet as Jabber the Hut." As for why he's sporting a bushy beard, Nick revealed that he grew it out in between filming shows. "To be honest, when a man gets a chance to grow a beard because he's not filming, what you do is you grow a big beard and then you cut it off in stages," he said. "So you go through all the various different looks." While the internet was divided over his facial hair, thankfully his fiancée Katie Dadzie is a big fan. "She does [like it].

I've got weirdly a very soft beard and she likes it when it's bigger," he smiles. Nick recently opened up about his body transformation and comments from trolls, telling The Mirror : "I’m 61 now and it’s no great surprise that I’m a bit overweight.
