New £3.65m state-of-the-art Chryston community health clinic opens its doors

The new state-of-the-art £3.65 million Chryston community health clinic has opened its doors.The facility, part of the Chryston Community Hub, has been designed to replace the older, smaller Muirhead Clinic.Featuring 17 clinical rooms over 682 square metres, it provides a variety of community services ranging from midwifery and health visitors to breastfeeding support and treatment rooms.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

It’s airy and nice and bright; it doesn’t feel like a clinic at all.“It looks a lot more modern than Muirhead Clinic and all the light gives it a great first impression."It’s also really nice to have all the services in one place and it has far more parking spaces."Serving more than 27,000 local people, the new clinic replaces Muirhead Clinic which provided a limited number of community health services due to its size and lack of dedicated car parking.It continued to operate during the build process to ensure minimal disruption for patients and service users.Professor Jann Gardner, chief executive of NHS Lanarkshire, told Lanarkshire Live: “This entire Chryston Community Hub development is an outstanding local facility.“People in and around Chryston
