Kyle Dermody, now 15, knifed Nathaniel to the neck in Harpurhey following a row over cannabis. A second teen, 14-year-old Trey Stewart-Gayle, was also convicted of murder.

Stewart-Gayle, then 13, who had been armed with a screwdriver, was found to have ‘encouraged and assisted’ Dermody. Reporting restrictions have been in force prohibiting both teenagers from being named in press reports surrounding Nathaniel’s murder.

But their names can be disclosed for the first time following a successful legal challenge by the Manchester Evening News.
