Movistar Plus+ has struck deals for the Max and SkyShowtime streamers in Spain. On the former, Movistar and Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) have extended their partnership to bring content from WBD’s portfolio of entertainment, sports, films and news to Movistar Plus+ customers, which includes combined streamer Max – launching in Spain in Spring 2024 along with 21 other European countries.
As part of the deal, Movistar+ Plus will remain home to WBD’s linear networks Warner TV, TCM, Discovery Channel, Eurosport, and CNN.
From January 1, customers will also have access on select Movistar’s services. “Spain represents one of the key territories for WBD and the partnership with an operator like Movistar is a crucial factor for the continued solid and steady growth of our streaming business internationally,” said Alessandro Araimo, Managing Director, WBD, Southern Europe.
The Nordics, the Netherlands, Iberia and CEE, which already have HBO Max, will gain access to the rebranded streamer in the spring.
