Mew announce break-up and farewell shows: “It’s been quite a journey”

Mew have announced that they will break up in 2025 following a pair of farewell live shows in Denmark – find all the details below.The Danish alternative band are due to bow out next year, which will also mark their 30th anniversary.Formed in 1995, the group is comprised of Jonas Bjerre (lead vocals), Johan Wohlert (bass) and Silas Utke Graae Jørgensen (drums).

Their seventh and most recent studio album, ‘Visuals’, was released in 2017.Mew’s final two gigs are set to take place at the Aarhus Congress Center in Aarhus on May 29 and the Royal Arena in the band’s hometown of Copenhagen on May 31.

The upcoming concerts are billed as ‘Mew 30’, celebrating the trio’s three-decade milestone.Tickets go on sale at 10am local time this Friday (September 13) – you’ll be able to buy yours here.
