She's best-known for being one fifth of hugely popular girlband Spice Girls, but Mel C still makes sure to stay grounded despite her fame and fortune.The singer rose to fame alongside Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell, Mel B and Emma Bunton in the 1990s as the ultimate girl group.

Mel, 50, is estimated to have a net worth of $30 million (£22.7m), according to Celebrity Net Worth, but this doesn't mean she splashes the cash on just anything.The star previously opened up about spending money on her daughter Scarlett - who she keeps out of the spotlight - admitting she refrained from splurging on Christmas presents.

Mel shares Scarlett, who was born in 2009, with ex-partner Thomas Starr. When Scarlett was just a toddler, Mel opened up about her daughter's childhood and how, despite her wealth, she wanted her child to grow up without being spoilt.

She said she was "mindful" not to "give into temptation" when it came to splashing out on her daughter. Obviously Scarlet is growing up with greater wealth than I experienced but I really hope I can instil in her that she has to work hard for everything, and try not to spoil her.
