Taylor Swift

Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.

Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.

Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.

Zack Sharf Digital News Director Donald Trump wasn’t the only one to warn Taylor Swift that endorsing Kamala Harris for president might impact her sales.

Megyn Kelly unleashed a tirade against the singer and told her: “You can kiss your sales to the Republican audience goodbye, Taylor; hope you enjoyed them while you had them.” Trump said Swift would “pay a price in the marketplace” for her endorsement.

Swift endorsed Harris for president not long after the first debate ended between Trump and Harris. The singer released a statement that mentioned she was “so heartened and impressed” by Harris’ decision to pick Tim Walz as a running mate.

Walz “has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades,” wrote Swift. This comment deeply angered Kelly, who went on to peddle claims about the administration that have been disputed. “I’m allowed to criticize Taylor Swift, and I don’t give a shit who gets upset,” Kelly said on her SiriusXM talk show. “This is disgusting.
